 This two-seminar outlook will cover in a general form the following topics:
1.Introduction 2. String model. From a toy moderl for QCD to a candidate for
 the theory of everything. 3. Superstrings and supergravity. 4. Supergravity
   and super-p-branes 5. More branes: D(irichlet) superbranes 6. M-theory,
    brane democracy 7. Some recent issues: back to QCD from the theory of
     everything, coincident D-branes and gauge theories, brane world and
                      M-theory, AdS/CFT 8. Conclusion
