SCDW model analyses of meson production inclusive spectra on nuclei

Abstract

Introducing a semiclassical approximation for the propagation of mesons 
and baryons in nuclear medium, it becomes possible to calculate inclusive 
spectra of various meson production processes on nuclei, respecting the 
angle and energy dependences of the elementary processes. This method has 
been applied to $(\pi,K)$ Sigma hyperon formation spectra to obtain the 
information about the Sigma-nucleus potential. It is also applied to 
$^{12}$C$(\gamma,\eta)$ spectrum, in which the eta-nucleus potential and 
thus properties of the $S_{11}$ resonance in nuclear medium are inferred.
