Resum
X-ray observations are essential for studying accretion by compact
objects. To understand the processes in the vicinity of accreting black
holes, the spectral and temporal analysis of their X-ray emission is
crucial. Studies of Active Galactic Nuclei and Galactic black holes are
complementary. The analysis of the extragalactic source NGC 1052 is
presented and a transition between spectral states of the bright
Galactic X-ray source Cygnus X-1 is discussed.
